Welcome & Contact!

I’m Dan Mowry and I welcome you to my graphic art, illustration, and design portfolio. I’ve been a freelance graphic artist professionally (that means paying clients) since 1998. I’m currently living in the Northern tip of Tornado Alley – Des Moines, Iowa.

I’m an artist that got his start with pencil on paper, oil paints and acrylics on canvas, found the wonder and joy of airbrushing and now spend my time pushing pixels using a Wacom tablet and Adobe software.

As a general outline, I create logos for individuals and companies, Print on Demand (POD) product design, photo retouching, brochure and other print-media art. I’m available to work with website developers to create complete master site design packages.

My project calendar is the spice of life. One day I might be creating art for a Llama farm, the next day bottle and packaging art for a winery, the next a web 2.0 logo for an online tshirt store.

I have happy clients and references are available as well as some wonderful testimonial quotes that are not necessarily G-Rated but warm my heart in their contagious enthusiasm. If I had angry and upset clients – my name would be mud and you’d be able to use just about any search engine to discover this. I’m proud to say that I work hard, I work fair, and it matters a great deal to me that you are pleased with the final product you spent your hard-earned money on. I know there are other choices out there so I appreciate that you’re here looking at me as one of those possible options.

Please feel free to look around my gallery and accompanying blog content. This site is dedicated to showing what I do and how I do it – to give you a better idea as you shop for someone to fill your needs in a graphic artist.

Also keep in mind that one of the best ways to ensure you have the right “fit” is to see if an artist’s portfolio reflects the style and quality you’re looking for – or at least an aptitude for doing work that may be required of them. Not every artist specializes in every style or genre even though they might be able to pull it off when needed. So, if you have any questions about anything – including whether I can do your particular project – just ask.

Comments or questions are welcome.
